I have seen ONE. It HAS been awhile though. BTW, you cant have too many 10/22s!Just looked this up in a reference guide: it is a 10/22RBI-BBZ. A "special distributor model, 690 made as an over-run of left-over WalMart stocks, and sold through Lipsey"s" Sold with a sling. Notated as "scarce". I do have the s/n range if you want it...just PM me. I think I would be at your LGS bright and early so you don"t lose the rifle!

I was thinking it would be a decent deal for $300.00. He still has three of them left. Standard 10/22"s have been on sale here for $199.99 before but that black laminate mannlicher seems worth the extra $100 to me.

"Rare"....ahhh a wonderful adjective used by someone selling something to make it sound more appealing. Same as calling something a "limited edition". Sure these are limited to the number contracted but that doesn"t automatically equate to increased desirability or value. Just way too many of the distributor variations now and not unheard of for another run of the same to be done later. I think the $300 is a decent price but nothing to race after.
Having four of them is counter to saying they are rare. Having none would make them rare. Regardless of being rare or not the $300 is the going rate for that rifle.
One of the LGSs here has 5 of these bad boys in stock. They had a one or two of this particular Mannlicher and a few stainless versions. I like them. That price you"re seeing is certainly better than what I"ve seen. The shop was selling them all for over $350.

I thought the same thing but the fact is that there was under 700 of them made. Even though they are just mannlicher stocked 10/22"s, they were a limited edition run with their own exclusive serial numbers, I guess they may have collectible value in years to come. With that said, my LGS purchased them from an out of state dealer that was asking an outlandish price for them so they collected dust and never sold. That particular retailer went out of business and sold most of his "lot" to my LGS, including all four of these 10/22"s. I did purchase one for the $299.99, I was also handed a brick of Federal lightning at no extra charge. I think it was a good deal made even better with the free brick of lightning"s. I always liked mannlicher stocks on certain rifles, this one is well executed and particularly attractive on the 10/22, in my opinion. My 8 year old son says it"s ugly, (this coming from a kid that worships the likes of warfare arms like the AR, the AK & the MP-5.) I told him "then I guess I"m going to keep this "ugly gun" all to myself!" (lol) I already have plans to scope it. I am not treating it as a collectible, I"ll be sniping squirrels and targets with it instead.
