But this is pure speculation, since there is nothing to suggest he can lift much more than that building, which I doubt weighs more than 20,000 tons. This speculation is under the assumption he is not struggling much with that building, but there"s no way to tell how hard it is for him to do that.

You are watching: How many tons can superman lift

I"d speculate that he can lift 40,000-50,000+ tons but I don"t know exactly if he has feats to say he can lift that much.

I"d say his limit is around 40,000 tons.

I"m just gonna say a lot. There"s no way of knowing. But it shouldn"t be million tonnes or more. It probably ranges somewhere around what these guys are guessing. 50-60k tonnes.

Implied "limit" of lifting, moving and general strength feats in the movies should be somewhere between lifting that building up to shifting tectonic plates.

Knowing from his speed and the weight of the building would be around 20,000 tons he can lift upto 40,000 or maybe above 50,000+.

Only this guy has the right answer. Off screen as it may be, he"s shifted tectonic plates and that should easily be his greatest strength feat in DCEU canon.

Not really interested in the calcs for the average force required to move tectonic plates but have at it, though I suspect the poll options in the OP are not enough lol.

He prevented techtonic plates from shifting so logically it"s continental level strenght. However, since we didn"t see it and most people don"t want to acknowledge it, I"ll say somewhere between 50.000-100.000 thousand tons.

What was Superman’s face expression when he lifted the building. It was a while ago so I don’t remember if he actually did it effortlessly

How is 50,000+ tons a limit? Ever heard of an upper boundary?

WB will make him as strong as they need him to be, at least their films will continue to fail as long as he is a living plot device, it makes the character boring to write, speaking of which it does give fanboys an excuse to continue wanking him as they"ve done over the years

lord_titan_: Their movies failing has nothing to do with superman its becase of bad stories and bad dorecting and he"s actually being underrated since people think that stormbreker thor or thanis can beat him.

He"s best feat is lifting about 7500 tons casually. I"d say about 15,000-30,000 at max. I feel like if we start saying much more than that we venture off into the NLF category.

About 15-20000 tons if we assume he lifted the building casually.

Edit: it"s all speculation really, we should use his on-screen feats in debate, wich is 7500 tons.

MCU fanboy logic:

Accept unquantifiable feats, outliers and statements pertaining to MCU. Disregard quantifiable feats, consistency in power levels and statements pertaining to DCEU.

Lmao! The hypocrisy is hilarious if a little pathetic.
